How to add phpJobScheduler fire script to a cron job

Postby davidgwalker » Thu May 07, 2009 7:07 am

How to run the phpjobscheduler/firepjs.php

If you would like to use cron then add this as new job to run each minute/hour/day:
    php -q /home/my_username/public_html/phpjobscheduler/firepjs.php &> /dev/null

    The constitute parts:

"php" - this is to invoke the server to run php - require more details: ASK YOUR HOST NOT ME

    "-q" - quiet please!

"/home/my_username/public_html/" - this is the location of the root html folder - require more details: ASK YOUR HOST NOT MENOT ME

"phpjobscheduler/firepjs.php" - location of your pjsfire script (this is the default)

"&> /dev/null" - redirect any output to null - remove if it does not work for you.

How often you run the job dependants upon how often you require jobs to be fired. For more info please read:

For further help on cron please refer to:

DONT have CRON?
If you do not have access to cron then you can add the following HTML to any page on your website:

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.phpjobscheduler.co.uk/" title="phpJobScheduler"><img src="http://YOURDOMAIN/phpjobscheduler/firepjs.php?return_image=1" border="0" alt="phpJobScheduler"></a>
Ensure you change 'YOURDOMAIN' to your own domain name!

If your website does not receive enough hits then you can add that html to any web page on any website (not just to the site where phpJobScheduler is installed).

Hope it helps you!

Dave.
