file permissions

Postby Ben » Fri Feb 22, 2008 1:29 pm

Hi, I have installed phpmysqlautobackup today but when I call run.php in a browser I get the following output:

A file permissions error has occurred. Please check the permissions on the script and the directory it is in and try again.

the folder phpmysqlautobackup and all its contents and subfolders are chmod 777 so I cannot understand why this error message could occur, any help/suggestions much appreciated.

Hi Ben,

Edit /phpMySQLAutoBackup/run.php and change:

$save_backup_zip_file_to_server to 0

(thats zero)

Try that and if NO errors occur then the issue is with the folder:
/phpmysqlautobackup/backups/

the permissions are not correct - please ask your host to check the permissions for you.

Thanks

Dave.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

That variable is already set to 0 (as in the supplied file; I have not changed it). This is why I am confused - maybe I am overlooking something obvious but I would be very grateful for any ideas.

Also I found to my surprise that the permissions on the public_html folder had changed to 777 - after running the script - could this be due to phpmysqlautobackup or would it be because of something unconnected?

Many thanks.

Hi Ben,

It will not and does not change file permissions.

More likely you have changed it yourself when attempting to get it to work. If you do not trust the script then PLEASE desist from using it.

If you are still struggling maybe you should ask your host for help

Thanks

Dave.
