gym - general technique

I have been going to a gym almost 30 years! And have read various articles over the years, and been told various things by different instructors...

from my experience the following continues to be true in all cases:

1. stretch - you should stretch all muscles to be used, gentle full stretches

2. full speed - when doing cardio ensure you do at least 2 30 second stints of full speed to flush out the heart
(get the blood gushing through your heart)

3. power lift - lift as heavy weight as possible (WITH COMFORT) at least one each session (loads the artuaries to makes the heart work hard)

4. do not over exert yourself - if you come out totally exerted it lowers emune system, so you get colds, flu, etc...

Everything over the years I have read and heard about good techniques is summarised above.
